As We Age, Our Interests And Curiosities Change
What made sense 5-10 years ago may not resonate with who you are today
20 year old is an enthusiastic apprentice.
A 30 year old is an “expert” and not interested in advice.
A 40 year old has had some setbacks and is open to reflection.
A 50 year old has found peace and balance.
As we age, our interests and curiosities change. As our ego peaks around 30 and then calms, it becomes less about “me” and more about “how can I help others.”
These stages and ages are a general outline and don’t perfectly correspond. I’ve seen 50 year olds with the peak ego of a 30 year old. I’ve seen 20 year olds who are old souls.
As you click to the next decade, be open to the idea that what once appealed to you 10-15 years ago — a professional goal, societal status — might change, as each day you see things again for the first time as your new self.
If you sense your objectives and desires are changing, pay attention. Your senses may be telling you where the next big opportunity lies — the opportunity that’s only becoming available to you now that you’ve matured and grown, allowing your perspective and priorities evolve and shift.
