When Things Feel Stacked Against You As An Investor
How to reorient your mindset for success
Last week, a senior investment Partner relayed to me that he was feeling fairly negative about various moving parts at work.
He recognized this heavy feeling was weighing him down and was looking for a way to reorient his thinking so he could feel better.
I coached:
In times of stress, focus your attention on open doors.
Resist the mind’s urge to fight the realities that are hurtful or frustrate.
Accept help from friends. Pull them towards you. Find stability in their embrace.
Focus on activities where you can influence outcomes.
Have faith the universe is taking care of you.
Surrender to the reality that there are many things out of your control.
These are the principles I’ve been using to emerge from losing our house in the Palisades Fires. Yes an entire community of 5000 of the most beautiful houses burned to nothing. All our belongings, heirlooms and kids schools gone.
But it’s gonna be ok. We are alive and have seen the power of our friends and community helping to restore normalcy as we re-rack and try to comprehend what occurred.
When facing a lot of negative news — reorienting the mind to being grateful for what you’ve got and focusing on what you can influence — are the best strategies for success.
